Interior Architecture

Welcome to FIU's Interior Architecture Department!

We offer a CIDA accredited professional interior architecture education on a spectacular tropical campus in Miami. Located in one of the world's most vibrant cities, our design school offers students access to an environment rich in provocative interior design and in design related activities.

The quality of our interior design courses develop students, graduates, and faculty who are intellectually and actively involved in the field of interior design and architecture. We are critically oriented toward design's role in society, and believe that people who possess these qualities plus, have a professional attitude, and a sense of accountability are able to make the most significant contributions to the community at local, academic, professional, and global levels.

We offer two degrees: the Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) degree, and the Master of Arts in Interior Architecture (MaIA). The Master of Interior Architecture is a professional degree designed to lead people seamlessly from freshman to Masters degree in five years. Those students who have baccalaureate degrees in other fields or who have AA degrees in Interior Design can apply for admission in the third year of the curriculum. The Master of Arts degree is a post-professional degree designed to lead people who already possess an interior design degree deeper into research and specialization with in the field.
